Julio Cesar Alvarez
Julio Cesar Alvarez was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. He is the second of four brothers. After immigrating to the United States in 1980 he attended High School in Laredo, Texas, then went on to Laredo Junior College where he received his AA Degree. He became an American citizen in 1985. Julio enjoys reading literature and scientific magazines. He also enjoys listening to the radio, writing poems and songs, collecting coins and stamps, and walking. In the year 2002 Julio's poem "I will Go Up The Mountain" received honorable mention in the Iliad Literary Awards Program and he was awarded the President's Award of Literary Excellence. He has recorded more than 30 songs. Julio is a staff writer at Majestic Records Corporation. He is a member of the American Songwriters Club at Edlee Music. He is also a member of the Academy of American Poets. Julio loves Country, Pop and Rock. Some of his favorite artists are Toby Keith, Madonna and Paul McCartney.
