Mr. Callier’s wife of 41 years, Diane, is also an educator. She received the New York Alliances of Black Scholars and Educators' Award, and the full-time teacher is currently listed in “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.” The Callier’s have 3 children and live in New York.

After retiring Mr. Callier began to write poetry that reflected his inner journey and his thoughts about God, Man, the Universe and the Earth. Three of his inspired poems have been made into songs. BROTHERS AND SISTERS was inspired by the loss of his youngest sister to cancer. GOD’S CALL was inspired by the fierce fires that burned in California. THE MAGIC WAND was inspired by his best friend, Albie, now deceased. The lyrics for all 3 songs were taken from his book published by Vantage Press, GOD LIVES, TOO. Mr. Callier has been writing for more than 36 years and will soon publish another book of poetry and essays reflecting his deep beliefs.
