Dan E. Kershner

Dan Kershner has been writing songs for over 25 years. In 1982 his lyric NIGHT ROLLIN’ placed as a quarter finalist in The American Song Festival. He has taught both music and math in the Baltimore County Public School System and gives private guitar lessons at the Appalachian Bluegrass Shop. His proficiency on the guitar landed him in several different bands over the years including Country Sample and the Elvis Presley Band.

In addition to music, Dan’s interests include treatment’s to insure clean water. He was a water treatment specialist for the U.S. Army and a Health Inspector for Prince George’s County Health Department. As a swimming pool Inspector, Dan developed a new way to test for chlorine. He called it a “Swim Stick,” and his invention is now patent pending.

Mr. Kershner has his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland. He has been awarded the Overseas Service Medal, the Army Good Conduct Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon and the Army Achievement Medal. He is a member of the Baltimore Songwriters’ Association.

Among his hobbies Dan lists playing guitar, hiking, ice-skating, swimming and song writing. His favorite styles of music are Classic Rock, Country and Blues, and his favorite singers are Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson, Pete Townsend, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Seeger.
